A glass of fresh water

The most famous contemporary Russian writer recounts stories of suffering and solidarity. Herself once a member of that group of volunteers, “Father Aleksandr Men”, which has worked for the most important pediatric clinic of the Russian Federation, the Moscow Clinic RDKB, since 1989. The “Aleksandr Men'” group has been a pioneer in Russia for the so-called civil society, relieving suffering and saving many human lives. Ulickaja's book, published in Russia under the title “Celovek popal v bol'nicy”, appeared in Italy thanks to the same “Aiutateci a salvare i bambini onlus” to whom the Russian writer gave all the rights. All royalties from sales go towards funding the Association's initiatives; the sale will take place online.
The work by Ljudmila Ulickaja has been introduced at the Honorary Consulate of the Russian Federation in Bozen. Consul Bernhard Kiem opened the evening by introducing the Association “Aiutateci a Salvare i Bambini Onlus”.
For the occasion, the paintings by Chris SANTER were shown.
This highlighted the importance of the marriage between art and solidarity that has led to the decision of donating the proceeds from the sales of the works shown in the Consulate to the Association.
The Association, headed by its President Ennio Bordato, operates in the Russian Federation since 2001. It was established with the aim of gaining public interest on the issues of Russian children, promoting charity events through raising funds from private citizens, associations, institutions and corporations.
